CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Our process begins with a customized questionnaire to grasp your desired outcome. A pre-shoot consultation, either over the phone or via Zoom, will be scheduled to finalize the details of your dream shoot. We tailor our approach to each individual's goals and style, ensuring a unique experience for every session. To ensure that everything is taken care of, we will send a follow-up email consultation before the shoot to confirm the plans.
HAIR & MAKEUP
Having a professional hair and makeup artist on hand can elevate your photo session and take your modeling portfolio to the next level. Not only will you look your best on camera, but you'll feel confident and relaxed, allowing you to focus on your poses and expressions. Our experienced makeup artist will work with you to create the perfect look for your shoot and can even adjust your hairstyle and makeup throughout the session to capture a variety of looks. Plus, having a dedicated hair and makeup artist on set can add some extra drama to your photos, whether it's by adding volume to your hair or highlighting your best features. Trust us, investing in professional hair and makeup is a small price to pay for photos that will set you apart from the competition and help you reach your modeling goals.
WARDROBE
Wardrobe plays a critical role in determining the success of a photo session. We understand that your life can be hectic and to make things easier for you, we offer an optional wardrobe styling service at an additional cost. This service can help relieve the stress of shopping and ensure that your outfit is perfect for your shoot.
If you choose to style your shoot yourself, we will provide you with a mood board to guide your wardrobe choices. To ensure that your wardrobe is appropriate for your photo session, we recommend that you send us photos of yourself wearing your chosen outfit. If you plan on bringing your own clothing, we suggest giving yourself two weeks to put together your wardrobe so that you have plenty of time to make any necessary adjustments.
EXPRESSION & POSING
At our photo sessions, expression and posing are crucial components in creating stunning and impactful images. As the company owner, I understand that this process can be intimidating for new models. That's why I am here to provide guidance and support.With my experience as a former model, I am highly skilled in directing my subjects to achieve their desired look. My expertise and sensitivity to my subjects' needs will ensure that your photo session is both productive and enjoyable.
RETOUCHING
Our studio offers two types of retouching services: high-end retouching for beauty images and basic retouching for natural-looking results.
We reserve high-end retouching for beauty images, which involves a meticulous process taking 45 minutes to an hour in Photoshop. Our team of skilled retouchers apply skin smoothing, blemish removal, color correction, sharpening, and other enhancements that result in a flawless, magazine-quality look.
For a natural and subtle touch, our basic retouching takes 20-30 minutes in Photoshop. It includes minor blemish removal, skin smoothing, subtle adjustments, and minor removal of wrinkles in clothing to enhance the original photo. Whether you need high-end or basic retouching, our team is dedicated to delivering the best possible results for your images.
SCHEDULING & PAYMENTS
Book a photo session with us Wednesday-Sunday, starting at 11 am, or choose a different date and time that suits you. We accept most major credit cards, cash, checks, Paypal/Venmo, ACH transfers, or Zelle for payment. Begin your modeling journey by sending us an email. Once we agree on the session date, I'll send a reservation link for you to virtually sign the contract and pay the session fee online. Please note that full payment of the session fee is required to secure your spot in our calendar. To ensure a smooth experience, please avoid scheduling any crucial appointments immediately after the shoot, as we may need some extra time with you.
PHOTO SESSION DAY
On the day of your shoot, we'll start by reviewing your wardrobe and mood board to reconfirm the direction of the shoot. We're happy to play your favorite music; just let us know. Next, we'll begin with hair and makeup, starting with a natural look and building up throughout the session to create a variety of versatile looks. Our studio is conveniently located on Manhattan's UES.
AFTER THE PHOTO SESSION
Expect an email from Pixieset within 5 business days with 150-200 top shots from your session. After you and your agent make selections, our team will retouch the images for enhanced quality and reduced distractions, taking 7 business days.
Upon completion, you'll receive high and low-resolution files via Wetransfer. Please download the files within 7 days as we don't store them. We recommend backing them up on external storage or cloud platforms.
